Recommended Implementation
Emotional, Mental and Physical Requirements
Determine if you have the ability, time and energy to donate to a local panel. Each member should anticipate donating approximately 5 hours a week to the panel.
When selecting other members of your panel, be sure that they can look at conduct and community issues without bias, or any type of prejudice.
Be aware that conduct cases can be emotionally and mentally taxing, as they will involve members of a community you are a part of. Don't be afraid to take breaks or set downtime periods for yourself.
Transparency Matters
Be sure you have a clear understanding of what your region needs and is looking for in a support or leadership panel.
When creating your Code of Conduct for your region, (Or using ours) make sure that it reflects the ethics and morals of your community and local tournament organizer’s
Keep an archive of all cases and inquiries for future panelists, tournament organizers, or any other entities that may require record of conversations or investigations into conduct of individuals. Appeals
Investigations, applications, and case submissions
Once you have determined criteria for your panel members, create an application form for them to apply in. Even if you have vetted them already, this allows transparency with your local tournament organizer's if they have questions. Some regions use Google Forms, as it is easy to use and keep records in. Others use discord conversations. Whatever you choose, be sure to keep those records. If you would like a version you can take, please join our Discord and ask for a copy of our panel creation form.
Use the same format for submissions to conduct cases and community issues. It makes things easy to archive all in one location and easy to uniformly format. For submissions, be sure to include player names and tags, also preferred forms of communication, for future use if investigation is needed. If you would like a version you can take, please join our Discord and ask for a copy of our panel creation form.
Investigations should be done by panel members who can be unbiased and who can spend the time gathering information as well as speak to witnesses if needed. Once the investigation is done, the panel should be informed of the findings. However, in some cases the case may contain private information, so the evidence may not always be shared. Just the recommendation of the investigators and a basic reason for that recommendation.
Present your findings
Once all the above steps have been taken, you need to present your recommendation to your local tournament organizer's or community at large, depending on how your region does that. If applicable, you would report your regions decisions to us through our ticketing system.
