These guidelines are designed to foster a positive, welcoming, and safe environment for all participants. These guidelines are intended to represent core values we hope the community will strive to uphold, and are not a Code of Conduct, which can be referenced here.
1. Uphold a Positive Community
Promote Positivity: Engage in constructive and encouraging dialogue. Aim to uplift and support fellow community members, fostering an atmosphere of encouragement and growth.
2. Build an Inclusive Community
Embrace Diversity: Celebrate and respect the diverse backgrounds, identities, and perspectives within our community.
Encourage a welcoming environment:Try to avoid behavior that excludes individuals from opportunities to make friendships. Strive to be welcoming of new members of the community. We hope to encourage people to avoid cliquey behavior which alienates others, and to try giving new community members opportunities to get involved!.
3. Respect Your Peers
Show Respect in All Interactions: Treat all community members with dignity and respect, regardless of their role, experience, or background.
Respect Privacy: Do not share personal information about other community members without their explicit consent. Privacy is a fundamental right, and respecting it helps maintain trust and safety within the community.
4. Choose Your Usernames and Nicknames Carefully
Be Mindful of Your Online Identity: Select usernames and nicknames that are respectful and inoffensive. Avoid names that could be seen as derogatory, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful to others.
5. If You See Something, Say Something
Be Proactive in Addressing Issues: If you witness behavior that violates these core values or otherwise threatens the community's safety and well-being, communicate with the appropriate authorities or moderators.
Stand Up for Each Other: Support fellow community members who may be targeted by negative behavior.Â
